Don't let the summer heat kill you [handy tips]

Sweat trickling down your spine just seconds after you step out of the shower.
Catching your breath because the air is humid and heavy.
Inexplicable headaches within the day.
Drenched inside your sleek ironed out suit.
Literally we're all just melting away in extreme proportions.

How do we beat this scorching El NiƱo spell? I bang my head for innovative ideas for this (or not!)

1.  Spritz on - Yes a handy atomizer will be your bestfriend these days. Fill it up w water, plus the scent you love and voila - Evian minus the price tag! Spray it on your face, arms and legs throughout day. Spoil your pores to the hilt, they need it.

2. Hats on - In a tropical country like ours, I wonder why we don't know wear hats as much esp with us women here in the metro. But we really should start doing it. Wear a baseball cap, a fedora, straw hat,  or bandana (whatever suits your ootd for the day) to protect your head from the heat. So says Bear Grylls (man vs. wild) This helps in controlling your body temp if you keep your head cool first and foremost.

3.  Black is it - Ok it's pretty clear that on a hot day black absorbs the most heat. Never wear black, instead use a black umbrella. So chuck out your frou frou colored umbrellas they are of no use from protecting you from the sun. A dermatologist suggests you buy the one with the silver lining inside for UV absorption. Who knew that had a purpose? Way to go Dra whoever you are hehe

4.  Hydrate like crazy. Bring a refillable bottle for wAter stops in between errands. Swim few times a week if you can. A dip in the pool helps so much, esp kids who spend days cooped up.

5.  Keep ice cubes by your side table. Whether it's in the bedroom, living room or garden area, it's nice to have these ice cubes handy in a bowl. You can suck on it, wrap it in a face towel n wipe on your face or try placing a bowl of ice in front of your electric fan for a DIY A/C effect. Intrigued yet? Do it!

6. Load on fruits. The Most refreshing snacks this summer are mango, watermelon, pomelo, orange and everything citrusy, juicy. Beyond a source of water it's nutritious too, obviously. Cut down on chips and opt for fruits instead.

So there goes the summer heat advice, did I help in any way? If you have more suggestions, message me up!

Despite mr. Sun's scorching feeling, let's continue enjoying the remaining days of summer ;)
