'Tis the season for Policarpio

Ever since Nina and I started living here in Mandaluyong City (8 years to be precise), we've adapted this ritual of commuting to Policarpio & taking a very short leisurely evening walk to this otherwise quiet street of Policarpio. But come December this place is all abuzz. Houses adorned with colorful, fancy trimmings and all the Christmas lights they could get their hands on.

Some houses on Policarpio tweak their designs every year which is great.

While some stay the way they've looked, which I find also very comforting.

But beyond the houses primped up to the nines, I love how we Filipinos are so Christmas crazy and do our share in sharing experiences like Policarpio to the ones we love.

Families picture-taking like crazy. An old couple walking hand in hand. Toddlers running around. A noisy group of teenage boys. The crowd is as varied as can be. But such is the added charm of Policarpio street.

I miss my big, crazy family today. Looking forward to parties with them soon.
